Assistant Department Head

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Assistant Department Head in our Culinary Arts department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Department Head, coordinating program curriculum and instruction, and fostering faculty, staff, and student relations.
Key Responsibilities- Program Curriculum and Instruction
• Develop and implement program curriculum and instructional materials
• Coordinate with faculty to ensure effective teaching and learning
• Participate in program evaluation and assessment - Faculty, Staff, and Student Relations
• Provide administrative support to the Department Head
• Coordinate faculty meetings and events
• Foster positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff - Planning and Development
• Assist in the development of program plans and budgets
• Coordinate with faculty to ensure program goals are met
• Participate in program evaluation and assessment - Administration
• Provide administrative support to the Department Head
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective communication
• Participate in college-wide initiatives and committees
- Grade 12 or equivalent
• Demonstrated recent work experience of at least 10 years as a certified journeyman cook and a minimum 2 years managerial experience
• Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills in English language (oral and written)
• Comprehensive knowledge of Lower Mainland Tourism & Hospitality industry with specific emphasis in the cooking industry
• Post-Secondary teaching experience preferred
• Completion or near completion of ID Program or equivalent preferred
