Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Agricultural Equipment Technician to join our team as an educator. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering instruction to students enrolled in the AET program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Delivery: Provide instruction to students in a face-to-face or online delivery mode.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a student-centered learning environment using an outcome-based approach.
  • Lesson Preparation: Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures, and demonstrations using principles of adult learning.
  • Training Aids and Materials: Develop new curriculum, training aids, and materials as needed.
  • Digital Tools: Use digital tools proficiently, including general office applications.
  • Instructional Methods: Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using varied instructional methods.
  • Cultural Competence: Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
  • Evaluation and Assessment: Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
  • Accommodation of Special Needs: Be responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners.
  • Professional Development: Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
  • Education: Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two years' recent/relevant post-journeyperson experience as an Agricultural Equipment Technician.
  • Instructional Ability: Effective instructional ability.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills.
  • Technology Competence: Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  • Teamwork: Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  • Diversity Awareness: Demonstrates valuing diversity.
