Key Responsibilities

The Agricultural Service Technician will be responsible for performing equipment diagnostics, repairs, and optimization. This includes:

  • Removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of components
  • Complex and difficult diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment
  • May specialize in all types of equipment

Administrative and Reporting

The Agricultural Service Technician will work towards attaining and maintaining appropriate efficiency, productivity, and labor performance. This includes:

  • Maintaining a minimum 80% or higher labor performance rating
  • Completing all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
  • Managing the workorder process from start to completion

Organization and Team Support

The Agricultural Service Technician will maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion. This includes:

  • Ensuring all safety regulations and requirements are followed
  • Building and maintaining constructive co-worker relations and effective team dynamics

Personal Development

The Agricultural Service Technician will participate in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge. This includes:

  • Maintaining current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
  • Maintaining up-to-date and current product knowledge of related lines

Critical Capabilities

The Agricultural Service Technician will have the ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment. This includes:

  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs. repeatedly

Desired Experience and Qualifications

The Agricultural Service Technician will have a Certified Journeyperson or equivalent, with 4+ years of experience performing service repairs. This includes:

  • Knowledge of engines, hydraulics, powertrains, air-conditioning, mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to read, write, and speak effectively with customers and/or other employees
