About the Role


Saskatchewan Polytechnic is seeking a qualified Agricultural Equipment Technician to join our team. As an Instructor in this role, you will be responsible for providing instruction to students enrolled in our AET program.



Job Duties

The successful candidate will design and implement a student-centered learning environment using an outcome-based approach in either a face-to-face or online delivery mode. They will prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures, and demonstrations using principles of adult learning, ensuring students receive high-quality education and training.




  • Provide instruction to students enrolled in the AET program.

  • Develop new curriculum, training aids, and materials as needed.
  • Use digital tools proficiently, including general office applications.
  • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using varied instructional methods.
  • Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
  • Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
  • Be responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners.
  • Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
  • Mentor students related to educational opportunities, industry expectations, and career goals.
  • Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
  • Attend program and school meetings.


Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

To be successful in this role, you must possess:




  1. Grade 12 or equivalent.
  2. Interprovincial Journeyperson Certificate in the Agricultural Equipment Technician trade.
  3. Two years' recent/relevant post-journeyperson experience as an Agricultural Equipment Technician.
  4. Effective instructional ability.
  5. Effective interpersonal skills.
  6. Effective communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, email, MS Office Suite software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  8. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  9. Demonstrates valuing diversity.


We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. If you are passionate about education and have the necessary skills and qualifications, we encourage you to apply.
