Key Responsibilities- Provide daily care and direct supervision to children in a staffed resource unit.
- Create a physically safe and emotionally nurturing environment that promotes positive behavior and development.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each child.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to ensure comprehensive support for children and families.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as child development, behavior management, and indigenous culture.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful team environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Child Care Worker or Child & Youth Worker Diploma or higher.
- 1-2 years of experience in a group home setting or related child care experience.
- Current certification in 1st Aid/CPR/AED.
- Trained in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
- Must be medically fit to work in a group home setting with proof of immunizations.
- Valid Class G Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle with OPCF6A Insurance endorsement and minimum of $ Liability.
- Clear criminal reference check, Clear Vulnerable Sector check, Clear Internal Records Check and a Clear Driver's Abstract.
