Job Title: Casual Child Care Worker

Kenora-Rainy River Districts Child and Family Services is seeking a Casual Child Care Worker to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a responsible and caring individual to provide daily care and supervision to children in a staffed resource unit. The successful candidate will create a safe and nurturing environment, prepare meals, and engage children in activities that promote learning and exploration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily care and direct supervision to children in a staffed resource unit.
  • Create a physically safe and emotionally nurturing environment.
  • Prepare meals and organize mealtimes and snacks for children.
  • Help children maintain good hygiene.
  • Organize and participate in activities that promote learning and exploration.
  • Keep records of children's progress, routines, and interests.
  • Follow all relevant legislation and agency policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Child Care Worker or Child & Youth Worker Diploma or higher.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a group home setting or related child care experience.
  • Must be medically fit to work in a group home setting with proof of immunizations.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in computer software applications, including MS Office and database programs.
