Position Summary

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Residential Child Care Workers to provide exceptional care and support to children residing in our group homes. You will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and safe environment that fosters the well-being and development of each child.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support to children in need.
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit patience, empathy, and understanding when interacting with children from diverse backgrounds.
  • Be knowledgeable about child development principles and best practices in residential care.
  • Maintain a safe and structured environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with other staff members, families, and community partners to ensure the holistic well-being of the children.

Qualifications

  • A Child Care Worker or Child & Youth Worker Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a group home setting or similar child care environment is preferred.
  • Current certification in First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention techniques.
  • A valid Class G Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle with OPCF6A Insurance endorsement and minimum $ Liability coverage.
  • Clear criminal reference check, Vulnerable Sector check, Internal Records Check, and Driver's Abstract.
