Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Alpine Irrigation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our grounds, ensuring they are safe and aesthetically pleasing for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement plans for the maintenance and upkeep of our grounds, including mowing, pruning, and other tasks.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Create budgets and estimates for labour and materials required for grounds maintenance projects.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Oversee the construction of new landscapes and the renovation of existing ones.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of work completed, including hours worked and materials used.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: Source and manage contracts for grounds maintenance services.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Source and procure materials, equipment and supplies required for grounds maintenance.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Troubleshoot issues and provide guidance to staff to improve efficiency and quality of work.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement schedules and procedures for grounds maintenance staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
  • Work Setting: Various locations.
  • Security and Safety: Basic security clearance.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods.
