Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Alpine Irrigation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our grounds, ensuring they are safe and aesthetically pleasing for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring our grounds are well-maintained and meet our high standards.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Manage budgets and resources, ensuring we have the necessary materials and staff to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Oversee the construction of new landscapes, ensuring they are completed to the highest standard.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, ensuring we can track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: Manage contracts with external suppliers, ensuring we get the best value for our money.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Source and purchase materials, equipment and supplies, ensuring we have what we need to complete tasks.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Troubleshoot issues, provide guidance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement schedules and procedures, ensuring our team is working efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
  • Work Setting: Various locations
  • Security and Safety: Basic security clearance
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods

Work Term: Permanent

Work Language: English

Hours: 40 hours per week
