We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Care Professional to join our dynamic team at North York General Hospital.

The Role:

This Part-Time Regular position involves working in the Day Surgery, Pre & Post Unit at Site Minor Surgical & Elder Care, 243 Consumers Rd. As a Surgical Care Professional, you will be responsible for providing excellent patient care, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and promoting a safe and healthy environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing patients' needs and developing individualized care plans
  • Providing direct patient care, including medication administration and wound care
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure seamless transitions and high-quality care
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to a culture of safety

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Physical assessment course completed within the last 5 years
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • IV Certification
  • 2 years' recent surgery/ambulatory surgical care experience
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years' current experience in adult and pediatric/infant day surgery and Endoscopy
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years' experience in Ambulatory care
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset

Salary:$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
