About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Care Coordinator in Surgical Services. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the surgical services department.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care;
  • Collecting and interpreting patient information to make informed clinical decisions;
  • Carrying out therapeutic nursing interventions to promote patient well-being;
  • Working closely with patients and families to ensure their needs are met and they receive effective communication and care;
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills to provide evidence-based practice;
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety;
  • Demonstrating excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment.

Education and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A diploma in Registered Practical Nursing from an accredited program;
  • Current certificate of registration issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • 2 years of recent experience in surgical services, preferably with IV initiation and venopuncture skills;
  • Knowledge of PCA and pain management principles, as well as current techniques in wound care, is an asset;
  • Excellent physical assessment skills and the ability to maintain competence relative to current practices.
