At North York General Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Surgical Nursing Professional to join our dynamic team in the Telemetry Unit.

The successful candidate will provide excellent patient and family centered care in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner. Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of care providers, they will focus on the assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of patient health.

The ideal candidate will be a great relationship builder and foster close connections with peers across the organization. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to connect effortlessly with physicians, staff, patients, and families.

This position supports the Hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate clinical competence in surgical nursing skills
  • Communicate effectively with patients/clients, families, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Think critically and prioritize work in response to client/patient needs
  • Be committed to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Assume a leadership/charge role with evidence of self-motivation regarding continuing education

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
