About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial part in our dynamic healthcare team, embodying clinical excellence and adhering to the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) practice standards and Southlake Regional Health Centre policies. As a key member, the RN collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care, guided by the three-factor framework of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-focused care within the RN scope, adhering to established hospital policies and procedures, including emergency codes.
- Ensure practice is consistent with entry-to-practice competencies, standards, guidelines, and legislation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with team members to provide care for patients with complex health issues.
- Contribute to patient health status assessments and documentation.
- Develop and implement the Plan of Care, evaluating its effectiveness.
- Assist in new staff and student orientation, preceptorship, and charge nurse responsibilities.
- Lead coordination of patient care and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities.
Requirements
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BCLS certificate required.
- Recent birthing unit work experience (within the last 5 years) required.
- BScN preferred.
- Current ACLS certificate preferred.
- Fetal Monitoring course preferred.
- NRP certified preferred.
- Education in breastfeeding preferred.
- Perinatal certificate preferred.
