Southlake Regional Health Centre is committed to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking a motivated and self-directed Registered Nurse to join our team as a key member of an interdisciplinary team focused on quality patient care and patient flow.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide excellent care to a diverse acute medical patient population, working collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless delivery of care. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patients' health status, developing and implementing plans of care, and evaluating their effectiveness. You will also contribute to the orientation and preceptorship of new staff members and students, and participate in the development and implementation of clinical pathways.
Responsibilities- Provide patient-focused care within the RN scope of practice, based on the three-factor framework of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Function in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, including emergency codes.
- Ensure that practice is consistent with entry-to-practice competencies, standards of practice, guidelines, and legislation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team.
- Practice collaboratively with members of the healthcare team to provide elements of care for patients/clients with complex health issues.
- Provide consultation and/or clinical support to peers as needed.
- Contribute to the assessment and documentation of each patient's health status on an ongoing basis.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Plan of Care and evaluate its ongoing effectiveness.
- Act as a role model and champion to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care.
- Current RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- BCLS certificate, required.
- CC1 an asset, preferred or must be completed within the probationary period.
- Recent experience working in a medical or surgical nursing unit within the last two (2) years preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated problem assessment skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork.
