About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Assistant to join our team at Kent Legal. As a Litigation Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our lawyers in managing electronic organization of all correspondence documents, opening and closing legal files, and preparing legal documents and court materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage electronic organization of all correspondence documents in document management system;
  • Open/close/maintain legal files;
  • Liaise with Billing Coordinators for the monthly production of accounts;
  • Draft routine correspondence;
  • Preparing and maintaining a bring-forward system;
  • Prepare legal documents and court materials;
  • Schedule appointments and web meetings, conference calls, and manage calendars for lawyers;
  • Maintain electronic filing system;
  • Any other duties as may be required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma;
  • 4+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant;
  • Knowledge of rules and practice direction;
  • Ability to work with all levels of court;
  • Skilled at managing priorities to hit multiple deadlines;
  • Skills with MS Office, CMS, InterAction, and ACL;
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality when interacting with clients.
