About the Company

Forge Recruitment is pleased to partner with our client, a large multi-service regional business, in their search for a commercial litigation assistant. Supporting a Senior Partner whose practice is focused on all manner of corporate and commercial disputes, the commercial litigation assistant will have a broad understanding of the litigation process and fundamental knowledge of various court levels.

About the Role

Supporting a Senior Partner, the successful incumbent will:

  • Prepare standard litigation proceedings, drafts of pleadings, orders, and other court documents
  • Prepare, compile, serve, and file court documents
  • Bind and collate document briefs
  • Draft and carry out correspondence and communications with internal and external stakeholders
  • General practice management, including scheduling client meetings, calendar management, travel arrangements, conference calls, etc.
  • Maintain the practice bring-forward system
  • Maintain all file management digitally and physically
  • Support with docketing and billings
  • Perform other duties as necessary and assigned

What You Bring

As the ideal candidate, you possess 3+ years' experience and have a proven track-record of supporting a commercial litigation practice. You are an expert communicator who thrives in a fast-paced and collegial environment. You are proficient in the entire MS Office Suite, a document management system (DMS), legal accounting software (i.e., PC Law), and Adobe. You have successfully obtained a legal assistant or law clerk diploma through an accredited institution.
