About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Truck Underwriter to join our team at Echelon 56. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in evaluating and managing risk for our long haul trucking clients.

Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and select policies to ensure profitability within established underwriting authorities.
  • Enter policy information accurately and timely to maintain efficient transactions.
  • Analyze endorsements, renewals, reissues, and cancellations according to corporate guidelines.
  • Contribute to achieving renewal rate increases based on exposure and rate adequacy standards.
  • Analyze new business for profitability, assessing exposures and hazards with guidance from senior underwriters.
  • Maintain professional relationships with brokers and customers to enhance market understanding and deliver quality service.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive analysis.
  • Cultivate strong communication and education with brokers regarding corporate underwriting philosophy, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent on-the-job experience.
  • Progress toward completing courses for CIP and CRM designations.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in fleet underwriting for long haul trucking.
  • Strong technical knowledge and computer skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
