Medical Laboratory Assistant II

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant II, you will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory operations and ensuring the highest quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process laboratory samples from patients, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Prepare laboratory samples for analysis, adhering to strict quality control protocols.
- Perform simple tests, such as urine tests, under the supervision of a Section Charge Tech.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program.
- One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to type at 25 w.p.m.
