Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will be responsible for performing routine laboratory procedures and providing technical support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures, including sample collection, testing, and analysis.
  • Rotate through various laboratory disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, transfusion medicine, microbiology, and anatomical pathology.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely test results.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological developments in the field and apply new knowledge and skills to improve laboratory operations.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program.
  • Eligibility for certification from the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
