Job Title: Head of Voice Department

The Victoria Conservatory of Music is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Voice Department as Head of Voice. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of music educators and professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality music education to students of all ages.

About the Role:

The Head of Voice will be responsible for leading and managing the Voice Department, including overseeing the delivery of programs, managing faculty, and ensuring the department's fiscal viability. The successful candidate will have a strong background in vocal pedagogy, performance, and collaboration, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Voice Department, including overseeing the delivery of programs and managing faculty.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the department's programs and services.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and inclusive music education environment.
  • Manage the department's budget and ensure fiscal viability.
  • Provide guidance and support to Voice Faculty, including professional development opportunities.
  • Recruit and manage new instructors, ensuring a diverse and talented faculty.
  • Administer the Faculty Teaching Assessment Program and ensure compliance with VCM policies and procedures.
  • Organize and coordinate events, including concerts, competitions, and recitals.
  • Maintain a public profile as a performer, clinician, and adjudicator, promoting the department's programs and services.
