Immerse Yourself in Ground-Breaking Cancer Research

The University Health Network is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our esteemed team at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Our research program focuses on breast cancer, with an emphasis on understanding the mechanisms that regulate cancer stem cell activity.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will design and lead their own research project to identify cell states and molecular mechanisms controlling cancer stem cells in human breast cancer models. This work will involve single-cell sequencing, flow cytometry, cell culture, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing using patient-derived xenograft models and patient-derived organoid models.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Designing and executing a research project aligned with the lab's strategic objectives
  • Training and supervising students working on their own research projects
  • Collaborating with scientific colleagues to execute the project
  • Analyzing complex datasets using sophisticated computational tools
  • Publishing research findings in reputable scientific journals
  • Developing and maintaining standard protocols for the lab

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:

  • Recent completion of a PhD program
  • A strong publication record and pending manuscripts
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced expertise in cell and molecular biology, including tissue culture, molecular cloning, lentiviral transduction, and CRISPR
  • Moderate experience with computational analysis in R and bash for large-scale DNA/RNA sequencing and single-cell sequencing data
