About the Role

Centrica plc is a leading energy company that is revolutionising a cleaner, greener future. We are seeking a highly skilled Governance and Risk Management Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring our governance framework remains robust and effective.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Governance Frameworks: Develop, implement, and oversee the governance framework relating to the Commercial function's demand forecasting, pricing, product development, route to market, financial planning, and commodity procurement activities.
  2. Manage Operational Controls: Create, implement, and review operational controls to manage process, financial, compliance, and regulatory risk, working with process owners and wider business stakeholders.
  3. Drive Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks by implementing robust financial controls, including those related to costing, pricing, demand forecasting, and hedging.
  4. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with various teams to influence and guide the direction of IS system changes, ensuring that both process and financial risks are effectively managed.
  5. Provide Regulatory Support: Serve as a point of contact for legal, regulatory, and compliance knowledge within the Commercial team and the broader business, providing support for regulatory activities and responding to industry changes and regulatory demands.
  6. Manage Team Governance: Ensure that the annual plan is clearly defined, regularly reviewed, and that progress against milestones is closely monitored, addressing any delays or issues to ensure the team remains on track to meet its objectives.
Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled individual with excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of influencing and engaging senior management teams. The role requires the production of complex procedure and policy documentation to a high standard, as well as the management of cross-functional teams to implement new ways of working across multiple business units.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance obligations related to commercial activities, alongside expertise in risk mitigation and financial control implementation.

The successful candidate will be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI, and Power Automate, and will have a strong understanding of commodity markets, particularly in the zero carbon and renewable energy sectors, including associated regulations.
