Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Governance and Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Compliance and Risk Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our governance framework remains robust and effective.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and Implement Governance Frameworks: Develop, implement, and oversee governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  2. Manage Risk and Compliance: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with commercial activities, including financial, process, and regulatory risks.
  3. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with senior management teams, process owners, and other stakeholders to influence and guide the direction of IS system changes and ensure effective risk management.
  4. Provide Regulatory Support: Serve as a point of contact for legal, regulatory, and compliance knowledge within the Commercial team and the broader business.
  5. Manage Team Governance: Ensure that the annual plan is clearly defined, regularly reviewed, and that progress against milestones is closely monitored.

Requirements

  • Strong Communication and Influencing Skills: Ability to influence and engage senior management teams, delivering clear and complex documentation.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Ability to drive new ways of working, managing through others to achieve goals across multiple business units.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain a high level of organization, manage tight deadlines, multiple deliverables, and large stakeholder groups.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of commodity markets, particularly in the zero carbon and renewable energy sectors, including associated regulations.
  • Risk Management: Awareness of financial risk management, particularly in relation to pricing and hedging activities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI, and Power Automate is essential for this role.
