About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Avon Building Maintenance Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of maintenance personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement strategies for maintaining the appearance and functionality of our outdoor spaces.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Conduct thorough assessments to determine the resources required for various maintenance projects.
  • Organize and Direct Construction Projects: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative or retaining walls, and other outdoor features.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, including equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Procure necessary materials and equipment to support maintenance operations.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice, and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Analyze issues and provide solutions to improve efficiency and quality of work.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) certification is an asset.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods and attention to detail.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a maintenance or supervisory role.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
  • Work Schedule: 32 hours per week.
