Position Overview

As a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor at Avon Building Maintenance Ltd., you will play a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of our outdoor spaces. Your leadership will ensure that our grounds are not only well-kept but also visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Recruit, oversee, and schedule team members to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement strategies for grounds upkeep and improvement.
  • Resource Estimation: Assess and estimate labor and material requirements for various projects.
  • Construction Oversight: Organize and manage the construction of outdoor structures such as decks and retaining walls.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs and documentation of work performed.
  • Equipment Care: Conduct repairs and maintenance on tools and machinery.
  • Supply Management: Order necessary materials and equipment to support maintenance activities.
  • Problem Resolution: Address work-related issues, offering technical guidance and recommendations to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Scheduling: Establish and maintain effective work schedules and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Certification: Possession of Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) certification is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years and up to 3 years of relevant experience in a supervisory role.
Work Environment
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to pay attention to detail and stand for extended periods.
  • Work Hours: This is a permanent position requiring 32 hours of work per week.
  • Language: Proficiency in English is required.
