Pelican Events & Catering is a dynamic and fast-paced company that requires an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, training, and employee relations. This is a permanent position with 30-40 hours per week, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 2 years of experience in human resources. They will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

About the Role

This role involves identifying current and prospective staffing requirements, preparing and posting job notices, and collecting and screening applicants. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for advising job applicants on employment requirements and terms and conditions of employment, reviewing candidate inventories, and contacting potential applicants to arrange interviews.

In addition, the Senior Human Resources Generalist will notify applicants of results of selection processes, prepare job offers, advise managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures, organize staff consultation and grievance procedures, negotiate settlements of appeals and disputes, co-ordinate termination of employment process, determine eligibility to entitlements, and arrange staff training.

The selected candidate will also be responsible for recruiting and hiring staff, performing administrative and office activities, staff recruitment and selection, and carrying out basic bookkeeping tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify current and prospective staffing requirements

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in human resources
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and human resources software
