Job Opportunity


We are seeking an exceptional Academic Expert for a faculty position at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will contribute to our department's mission by teaching, researching, and mentoring students in the field of Indigenous Issues.



Key Responsibilities

  • Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Supervise graduate students
  • Maintain a strong research program
  • Participate in administrative activities


Requirements

  • PhD in Indigenous Studies, Gender and Women's Studies, or a related field
  • Expertise in Indigenous resistance and/or resurgence, two-spirit and queer studies, decolonial and anti-colonial critiques, and/or transnational perspectives
  • Demonstrated commitment to community service
  • Ability to engage with Indigenous communities and organizations


Preferred Qualifications

  • Established research program
  • Ability to raise external funds and develop co-creative projects
  • Existing relationship with Indigenous nations, communities, or organizations


Bilingualism

As the University of Ottawa offers programs in both English and French, all faculty members must demonstrate bilingualism before being granted tenure.
