Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Statistics to join our faculty at the University of Ottawa. As an expert in statistical methods and tools, you will teach students how to apply statistical concepts in business.

About the Role:

This part-time professor position is responsible for teaching a 3-credit course on statistical process control and quality improvement. You will work closely with students to help them develop hands-on experience with Excel and/or Minitab.

About the Course:

The course covers descriptive statistics, graphical representation of data, measure of central tendency and dispersion, random variables, probability distributions, and statistical process control. Students will gain practical experience with statistical software and learn how to apply statistical methods in real-world business settings.

Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Professor of Statistics, your responsibilities will include:

  • Taught students statistical methods and tools
  • Developed and implemented curriculum for statistical process control and quality improvement
  • Mentored students on statistical software and applications
  • Assisted students with data analysis and interpretation

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have a Master's degree (PhD preferred) in statistics or a field of study where statistics for management were applied extensively. You should also demonstrate recent professional experience directly related to the use of statistics for management.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is between $60,000 and $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
