As a Sessional Instructional Assistant at the University of Toronto, you will have the opportunity to work with students in the Field Linguistics/Field Methods course. This role involves providing language analysis support, emphasizing procedures and techniques.

The successful candidate will be fluent and native speaker of Jamaican Patois or Mauritian Creole, able to interact with university students, and possess good English skills. No teaching experience is required.

In this position, you will be responsible for oral translation from English into Jamaican Patois or Mauritian Creole, evaluating student sentences, telling short stories, transcribing these stories, describing pictures and videos in the target language, and recording sessions for further study.

To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications outlined in the job posting. Please note that preference is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III according to Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
