About the Job

The Environmental Compliance Specialist will report directly to the Environmental Regional Manager. In this role, you will assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of processes to maintain environmental compliance.

You will be responsible for coordinating activities related to maintaining the ISO 14001 certificate, driving the implementation of environmental policies, processes, and procedures, and preparing and documenting environmental training for the site.

You will also coordinate onboarding, refresher, and recertification training with the EHS Coordinator to ensure compliance with ISO 14001 training requirements, perform site inspections/audits/checklists, and verify environmental compliance to authorizations and permits.

Additionally, you will ensure all environmental data is identified, documented, and archived, consistent with ISO 14001 and other requirements, aid with preparing and submitting all environmental reporting relating to the site, and respond to community feedback line and participate in community stewardship activities as required.

This role requires strong computer knowledge, including Microsoft applications and other web applications, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to create and deliver presentations.

Requirements
  • 1+ years of environmental experience in an industrial setting.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Experience with Environmental Management System- ISO 14001.
  • Ability to work within a group and problem solve effectively.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
