Outpost Recruitment is working with a leading global civil contractor to find an experienced Civil Project Superintendent for their Vancouver-based operations.

About the Role:

This is a full-time permanent position offering a competitive salary of $130,000 - $170,000 per annum. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the execution of various projects across different locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, and supervise construction activities, including workforce management, resource allocation, and quality control;
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely completion of projects;
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce compliance with project-specific safety protocols;
  • Lead and develop a team of direct reports, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback;
  • Collaborate with field engineering, estimating, and trade partners to ensure alignment with project plans and specifications;
  • Inspect work sites to identify required materials, equipment, and resources needed to complete projects efficiently;
  • Address construction issues, resolve productivity and work interface problems, and optimize constructability;
  • Maintain accurate records of project schedules, costs, and quality metrics;
  • Foster effective communication between stakeholders, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Requirements:
  • No less than 10 years of experience as a Field Superintendent in earthworks, utilities, foundations, or heavy-civil construction;
  • Prioritization and multitasking skills to manage multiple smaller projects or a single large-scale project;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software;
  • A valid driver's license;
  • Ability to interpret project schedules, engineering plans, and specifications;
  • Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills;
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
