Control Systems Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineering Specialist to join our team at Irving Oil Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our refinery control system configurations, implementing new automation and protection systems, and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our plant assets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement innovative and complex system integration, automation, and control logic to enhance refinery performance.
- Lead the implementation of solutions through various development phases and manage the automation scope of workflow and project packages.
- Execute maintenance and improvement activities for process automation and protection systems, including configuration and programming activities.
- Monitor automation system performance and develop solutions for optimization and to help improve efficiency.
- Provide guidance to multi-discipline project and operations teams and support engineering teams in developing work packages.
- 10+ years of experience in IT, including 5+ years in an industrial environment (refining preferred).
- Experience with OT systems such as Honeywell Experion and TPS DCS, Rockwell PLCs, SIS & Machinery Monitoring Systems.
- Experience with automation system and computer hardware troubleshooting, repair, and replacement.
- Experience configuring and supporting OT networking and firewalls.
- Experience in cybersecurity and best practices in OT environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory.
