We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at Irving Oil. As an Automation Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the administration and maintenance of our refinery process control and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Implementation: Develop recommendations for design changes, improvements, and optimization of our automation systems.
- Upgrade and Maintenance: Lead upgrade projects and complete system implementation tasks, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- System Administration: Configure and maintain automation system applications and databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot system and network issues, providing solutions to problems, including participating in an on-call support rotation.
- Reliability and Cybersecurity: Ensure system reliability through scheduled preventative maintenance activities and document new technical procedures or update existing ones, as required.
- Experience: 5-10 years of related experience, including 5 years in an industrial environment.
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Technology.
- Certifications: NBSCETT PTech Certification is an asset.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and self-starter with ability to multitask.
