Facilities Coordinator and Recreation Administrator

Simon Fraser University seeks a skilled Facilities Coordinator and Recreation Administrator to join its Athletics & Recreation team. This role is crucial in recreation office operations and facility scheduling/administration, fostering a community of inclusion and opportunity for students, staff, faculty, and the general community to participate in athletic and rec programs and services.
Job OverviewThis position plays a pivotal role in training staff and building relationships with internal and external users. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities- Coordinate recreation office operations, including facility scheduling and administration.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to promote inclusive and diverse recreational opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to facility usage and programming.
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, faculty, and community members.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
The successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, combined with training in word processing, database, spreadsheet, and desktop publishing applications. Two years of related experience are also required.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Showcase effective interpersonal and communication skills through interacting with faculty, staff, students, and the general community.
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Capable of lifting, moving, or carrying materials and equipment up to 20 kg.

This is a permanent, full-time position. The salary range is $59,145.80 to $69,375.00 per annum, commensurate with experience.
