The University of Guelph is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join its Custodial Services team as a University Custodial Services Representative. This is a temporary full-time role, covering the absence of the Regular Incumbent, from November 25, 2024, to July 25, 2025.

The primary responsibilities of this role include gathering waste, straightening surfaces, and tidying spaces, utilizing ergonomic cleaning tools. The University Custodial Services Representative will ensure areas are clean and well-stocked facilities while performing work as scheduled and prioritized according to the Department's standards of cleanliness and service.

Key qualifications for this position include a minimum Grade 10 education (Grade 12 preferred) combined with one year of custodial experience from a major institutional sector, such as education, post-secondary education, medical/hospital, or service industry. The successful candidate will also be required to work various shifts, including weekends, afternoons, and nights, as required and assigned.

The incumbent may be required to operate powered/non-powered equipment and tools, including vacuum cleaners, mops, and brooms.

Estimated salary: $27.45 per hour, based on the job description and location, with the possibility of overtime. Regular employees may also have access to additional benefits, such as the University's Employee & Family Assistance Program and subsidized athletic facility membership.
