Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of 2 Health and Safety Advisors on site. Your primary objective will be to ensure compliance with OHSAS obligations, health & safety legislation, and all minimum health & safety standards.

  • Initiate and maintain positive measures to raise standards and promote a proactive approach to health and safety management.
  • Support the monitoring of sites through regular audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish a system to ensure all personnel receive a comprehensive site induction briefing before commencing work on site.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and near-miss events to prevent accidents and improve overall safety.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance health and safety standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain to establish effective relationships and drive safety solutions.
  • Negotiate resolutions to health and safety issues that may arise during projects.

A key aspect of this role will be to work closely with the Senior Safety Manager and Preconstruction Team to support business growth and tender submissions.

Requirements:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess:

  • Significant experience in managing health and safety teams in the construction industry.
  • A strong understanding of OHSAS regulations and health & safety legislation.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • A proven track record of implementing effective health and safety strategies and promoting a positive safety culture.
