Pur and Simple is seeking a diligent kitchen assistant to join our team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, including clearing and cleaning tables, trays, and chairs, loading buspans and trays, and operating dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.

You will also be expected to place dishes in storage areas, sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment, handle and store cleaning products, receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas, remove kitchen garbage and trash, sharpen kitchen knives, sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, and wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen area, including work surfaces, appliances, and equipment
  • Operate dishwashers and washing machines to ensure efficient and effective cleaning
  • Handle and store cleaning products and supplies
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash
  • Sharpen kitchen knives and maintain sharpness
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Will train on the job
  • Up to 9 kg (20 lbs) weight handling

Working Conditions

This is a permanent position with 30 to 44 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have English language proficiency.

Estimated Salary

We offer a competitive salary in the range of $25,000 - $35,000 per year, depending on experience.
