Human Resources Assistant

**Job Overview**
As a Human Resources Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the HR department with various administrative tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of human resources. This is 16 month maternity leave contract with the possibility of extension.
**Duties**
- Support the recruitment and selection processes of new employees i.e., organizing resumes, scheduling participating in interviews, etc.
- Set up new hire packages and annual training documentation
- Plan, schedule and maintain records of all training programs
- Provide administrative support to the site health and safety committees (i.e., meeting minutes, inspection documentation, etc.)
- Act as a resource to Supervisors and Managers to support compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Monitor the process for the purchase of Health & Safety equipment and supplies for sites
- Provide coverage for HR department when necessary
- Participate and track health and safety audits
- Record meeting minutes
- Payroll remittances and writing checks
**Qualifications**:
- Previous experience in a human resources role is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
- Knowledge of project management principles is a plus
- Must have a drivers license
Pay: $25.00-$27.40 per hour
