Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a highly skilled Collections Specialist to join our corporate finance team at our head office. Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the collections function of our Long-Term Care and Retirement homes.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and manage resident accounts to ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Review aging reports and identify overdue accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with accounts receivable and care home teams to ensure compliance with company collection policies.
- Assist with collection efforts on overdue accounts through calls, emails, and written communication.
- Negotiate payment plans or settlements when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities, bad debt adjustments, and Ministry funding.
- Prepare collection reports, highlighting key metrics.
- Coordinate with the legal team on accounts requiring escalations for legal action.
- 2+ years' experience in an accounts receivable, collections, or credit management role.
- Experience in LTC environment/knowledge of MOHLTC guidelines is considered an asset.
- Experience with PCC is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills (written and oral).
- Kind and compassionate approach, combined with strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Post-secondary in areas of business, accounting, or related field considered an asset.
