Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation Systems Specialist to join our team at ATS Automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing automation equipment remotely and at customer facilities, with a focus on resolving customer issues to support increasing customer loyalty and revenue.

The Automation Systems Specialist will work closely with our customers to understand their needs and provide comprehensive service reports to support system improvements and generate additional opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience servicing or building high-speed automation systems, and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with all levels of customer and ATS management in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.

The Automation Systems Specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment at customer facilities, reporting and correcting abnormal equipment conditions, and supporting the development of operating and troubleshooting knowledge of the operations team.

The successful candidate will also be required to travel to both domestic and international customer locations for long- and short-term support, and will be expected to lead on-site teams and liaise with customers and ATS project managers.

The Automation Systems Specialist will be responsible for coordinating 3rd party vendors and assisting to resolve technical issues as required, and will be expected to follow ATS and customer plant and safety regulations while at customer facilities.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly gain knowledge to readily troubleshoot systems, and will be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

The Automation Systems Specialist will be responsible for completing detailed service reports for the services provided in a timely manner and submitting to the appropriate people, and will be expected to ensure customer issues have been resolved through follow-up communication and project/case closure if required.

The successful candidate will also be required to be available to be on-call on a rotational basis, and will be expected to communicate through various mediums with internal and external customers to understand needs and support resources and solutions accordingly.

The Automation Systems Specialist will be responsible for collecting and assembling all necessary technical information and customer specifications to prepare for service scope, and will be expected to facilitate warranty/non-warranty claims with the customer.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate service projects including team meetings, schedule and financials as required, and will be expected to assist others and take on temporary or permanent assignments as requested by the Service Manager.

The Automation Systems Specialist will be responsible for keeping up with current products and equipment used at ATS in Cambridge, and will be expected to meet or exceed customer expectations in an efficient manner.

The successful candidate will also be required to fill out daily site reports and safety check lists, and will be expected to adhere to all established procedures as defined by ATS Quality Procedures, Process Flows, Work Instructions, Policies, and the Employee Expectations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Electrician, a Construction and Maintenance Electrician or equivalent certification from other Provinces or Countries, and will have a minimum of five years of experience servicing or building high-speed automation systems.
