Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Director - Technology Product Owner to lead our Digital Identity portfolio, driving strategic vision and execution across the college. This key role will be responsible for managing a team of professionals, developing product roadmaps, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver exceptional digital identity solutions.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of professionals to develop and support the Digital Identity product, manage team capacity, and ensure delivery of platform engineering and technology that powers the Product.
  • Product Strategy/Roadmap: Develop and maintain the strategic vision for Digital Identity products, ensuring alignment with overall IT and institutional goals.
  • Backlog Management: Manage the product backlog, define priorities, and ensure timely and quality delivery of solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with key stakeholders, including academic and administrative departments, to understand their needs and connect the right identity management solutions.
  • Delivery Planning and Execution: Lead delivery planning, sprint execution, and collaborate with development teams to maintain agility and excellence.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure products meet technical and service quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT Digital Solutions, IT Security, data teams, the Registrar's Office, People & Culture, and third-party partners, to enhance digital identity capabilities.
  • Technical Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with the Digital Identity portfolio.
  • Change Management: Facilitate change management activities related to identity management projects and processes, promoting awareness and adoption across the college.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to executive leadership, focusing on progress, issues, and risk mitigation.

About You:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Management Science, Business Management, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in identity and access management (IAM), digital identity, or related technology product ownership roles.
  • Experience in post-secondary education or the public sector is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, managing technology product backlogs, and overseeing successful product delivery.

    • Communication: Translating technical concepts into simple language for non-technical stakeholders.
