The Renfrew County District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and organized Human Resources Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will provide administrative support to our HR team, including Human Resources Coordinators, Officers, Managers, and Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the implementation, development, and maintenance of various human resources functions, including recruitment, selection, training, development, labour relations, wellness, and attendance management.
- Conduct research and develop special projects, such as recruitment campaigns, training programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support all aspects of the recruitment cycle, including job postings, applicant tracking, screening, interviews, reference checks, and hire packages.
- Record and maintain data in our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and compile and analyze reports as required.
- Prepare general correspondence and provide excellent client service to all stakeholders.
- Ensure department operational effectiveness, including mail, filing, operating phone systems, and accounting functions.
- Maintain our human resources department's internal and external webpages and team drives.
- Schedule meetings, draft and distribute agendas, record minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Minimum 2-year post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Office Administration, or other related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in human resources, administrative, or other relevant support positions.
- Proven ability to identify sensitive situations and recognize the impact of potential solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to suit the situation and audience.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to use discretion, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with confidential issues.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with particular attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS.
