Senior Geotechnical Engineering Manager

MTE Consultants, Inc. is in search of a Geotechnical Project Manager to oversee projects from our office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee a diverse range of geotechnical engineering assignments;
  • Manage field operations for various investigations, including drilling and test pitting;
  • Supervise compaction testing of soil and asphalt utilizing a nuclear gauge, along with concrete assessments and aggregate sampling;
  • Conduct onsite evaluations and manage geotechnical inspections for foundations and subgrades;
  • Draft and assess proposals, technical documentation, and schematics;
  • Ensure prompt and precise invoicing while maintaining the financial viability of projects;
  • Offer guidance, mentorship, training, and technical assistance to junior personnel;
  • Actively pursue opportunities to foster and enhance client relationships and business development;
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering;
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities;
  • Proficient technical report writing skills;
  • Strong command of MS Office applications, including Word and Excel, as well as familiarity with AutoCAD and Geo-Slope;
  • Understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and safe practices in environments with heavy machinery and construction;
  • Standard First Aid & CPR certification is a plus;
  • Outstanding problem-solving capabilities;
  • Meticulous attention to detail;
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and access to a dependable vehicle;
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check within the last six months.
