Job Summary:

The Executive Chef will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of cooks and kitchen staff to prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
  • Requisitioning food and kitchen supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Planning menus and ensuring food meets quality standards
  • Preparing dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
  • Supervising kitchen staff and helpers
  • Managing kitchen operations, including inventory management and kitchen maintenance
  • Inspecting kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
Requirements:

To be successful as an Executive Chef, you will need:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads
