The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Manager to lead and influence HR activities at our Edmonton manufacturing facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that HR planning and results are aligned with business needs, and that our employees are engaged, motivated, and equipped to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives
  • Manage labor relations, including grievance resolution and disciplinary matters
  • Provide advice and guidance on HR-related issues
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics, including attendance, turnover, and retention
  • Collaborate with finance to prepare and administer the HR budget
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to HR
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Commerce, or Business Administration
  • CPHR designation preferred
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in HR, with at least 3 years of management experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of managing labor/management relationships
  • Strong business and operational acumen, particularly in manufacturing and/or food processing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Results-oriented, with ability to work as part of a functional team
