About the Role

The Executive Director will be responsible for developing long-term plans and strategies that facilitate the Toronto Dementia Research Alliance (TDRA) vision, mission, research, and clinical goals and objectives. This includes establishing TDRA as a world-class academic dementia network and ensuring its sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research goals and objectives to ensure continual innovation and advancement in the field of dementia research.
  • Provide managerial leadership and integrate the activities of clinicians and research teams in participating hospital sites.
  • Foster collaboration across disciplines and networks to advance research and clinical care.
  • Mobilize research discoveries to transform health and improve outcomes for individuals affected by dementia.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a MD degree with certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or its equivalent in any area of medicine, with expertise in dementia, Alzheimer's, or a related field. Alternatively, a PhD in brain health, cognitive impairment in aging, or a related discipline will be considered.

The candidate must have a demonstrated exceptional record of excellence in research and teaching, with a strong track record of leadership and management in clinical research. Experience in communication, problem-solving, organizational program dynamics, project management, and consensus building is essential.
