Job Title: Professional Standards Senior Investigator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Standards Senior Investigator to join our team at the Government of Saskatchewan.

About the Role

The Professional Standards Senior Investigator will be responsible for conducting and participating in formal investigations regarding public complaints, performance issues, and contravention of policies, procedures, and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct investigations and provide advice and expertise related to the application and interpretation of policies and standards.
  • Provide quality assurance, file review, guidance, and direction on criminal and provincial investigations.
  • Track, maintain, report, and update CALEA accreditation records for PPS within the PowerDMS database.
  • Assign and monitor tasks on PowerDMS and enter proofs for accreditation compliance.
  • Prepare and deliver training on ethics, bias-free policing, professionalism, and harassment.
  • Participate as a leadership team member furthering the branch, ministry, and government-wide goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with PPS Unit Commanders, teams, and PPS Officers and employees.
  • Lead internal reporting processes to ensure transparency and accountability to the Government of Saskatchewan and the public.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and skills in law enforcement related techniques, policies, and reporting objectives, as well as investigational and interview techniques related to criminal and code of conduct investigations.

They will also have experience in government discipline processes, public complaint commission investigations, CALEA accreditation, policy development, and evaluation.

A bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related discipline, combined with several years of law enforcement experience and leadership experience, is required.
