Key Responsibilities
- Investigate claims from various sources, including individuals and organizations.
- Analyze information to determine the City's liability and make informed decisions.
- Negotiate and finalize claims with parties involved, ensuring fair and timely resolutions.
- Pursue recovery for damage to City property, including vehicles and infrastructure.
- Participate in legal proceedings, providing expert testimony and evidence.
- Assist with the insurance renewal process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide advice on claims-related matters, offering guidance and support to stakeholders.
- Perform related tasks as needed, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Requirements
- University degree or college diploma in a relevant field, such as insurance or risk management.
- 2-3 years of experience in claims adjusting or a related field.
- Knowledge of claims handling and insurance industry practices.
- Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, as well as a clean driving record.
- Criminal record check and proof of education may be required.
