Job Title: Youth Shelter Manager

At The Pod Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to fill the role of Youth Shelter Manager. This position is a key part of our team, responsible for the overall management and operations of the Youth Shelter.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a housing-first strategy that prioritizes the social determinants of health.
  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the residential facilities, including case management and programming for residents.
  • Participate in the development and review of agency practices and programs.
  • Build and manage a team of front-line employees to support clients.
  • Lead performance management initiatives and support staff growth and development.
  • Ensure data integrity and evidence-based outcomes.
  • Manage intake, admissions, program plans, and discharges.
  • Maintain professional standards in client documentation and case management.
  • Participate in on-call support and emergency response.
  • Create a safe and secure environment for youth.
  • Ensure facility health and safety standards.
  • Participate in budgeting and oversee the residential budget.
  • Foster a positive working environment and labor relations climate.
Requirements:
  • University degree or equivalent in a related social services field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supervisory/management roles in the social service sector, preferably with a focus on youth homelessness.
  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to motivate employees.
  • Understanding of youth homelessness and the housing sector in Peel.
  • Experience in recruiting and supervising program staff.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience working with budgets and funding proposals.
