Job Title: Youth Shelter Manager

Job Summary:

The Pod Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Youth Shelter Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the overall management and operations of the Youth Shelter, including supervision and management of front-line Youth Workers and Supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a housing-first strategy that prioritizes the social determinants of health.
  • Lead the day-to-day operation of all residential facilities, including case management and programming for residents.
  • Participate in the development and review of agency practices and programs.
  • Build and manage a team of front-line employees to support clients.
  • Lead performance management initiatives and support staff growth and development.
  • Ensure data integrity and evidence-based outcomes.
  • Manage intake, admissions, program plans, action plans, and discharges of residents.
  • Maintain professional standards for client documentation and case management.
  • Participate in on-call support and emergency response.
  • Create a safe and secure environment for youth accessing services.
  • Ensure facility meets health and safety standards.
  • Participate in budgeting and oversee residential budget.
  • Foster a positive working environment and labor relations climate.

Requirements:

Talents & Expertise:

  • University degree or equivalent in a related social services field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supervisory/management roles in the social service sector, preferably with a focus on youth homelessness.
  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to motivate employees.
  • Understanding of youth homelessness and housing sector in Peel.
  • Experience in recruiting and supervising program staff.
  • Leadership experience and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with budgets, funding proposals, and funding requirements.
  • Flexibility with occasional evening and weekend work.
